1981Services for Clarence Earl Chalfant, 81, of Spencer will be Saturday morning at 11 a.m. in the Warner Chapel. The Rev. Nathaniel C. Perry will officiate
Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery
Casket Bearers; George Koenig, William Koenig, Ervin Grover, Dick Barnard, Charles Nelson and Bill Stevenson
Chalfant, the son of John E. and Christiana Phillips Chalfant, was born May 24, 1900 in Webb, where he received his education. Following his education, he began farming in the Webb and Gillett Grove
He married Willa Susan Caskey on January 19, 1939 at Mount Sterling, Kentucky
After his retirement from farming, Chalfant moved into Webb and had lived in Spencer since 1973
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Spencer
He died Wednesday at the Spencer Municipal Hospital
Chalfant was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Willa in 1977; one stepson, Dale; four sisters and three brothers
Survivors include one stepson, the Rev. Donald H. Chalfant of Battle Creek, Michigan; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Darlene Porter of Spencer; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren
The Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
