Services for Paul Carpenter, 73, of Spencer will be Thursday, January 13 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Spencer with Pastor Harold Lovestrand officiating.

Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Carpenter died Monday at Spencer Municipal Hospital.

Bearers: Lee Carpenter, Ted Carpenter, Donald Kreiger, Floyd Johnson, Scott Olson and Henry Hintz.

Mr. Carpenter was born June 21, 1903 in Bath, Illinois to James L. and Eva Pasley Carpenter. He moved from Illinois at an early age with his parents and was educated in country schools in Missouri. He came to Dickens as a young boy and farmed in this area until his retirement.

On March 4, 1923 he married Ruth Foster in Emmetsburg.

Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Spencer; his son, Paul of Cedar Rapids; daughters; Mrs. Jeff (Grace) Bryce of Citrus Heights, California, Mrs. Gerald (Iris) Hanson of Kenneth, Minnesota, Mrs. Paul (Joyce) Flaharty of Dickens; by 10 grandchildren and by his sisters, Alice Haden of Napa, California and Ruby Hancock of Clarence, Missouri.

The Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
