October 22, 2004Mrs. Jennie Buren, 85, of Royal passed away Friday, October 22, 2004 at Longhouse Residence in Spencer.
Services were held October 25 at Warner Chapel in Spencer. The Rev. Roger Maize officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service.
Burial was in North Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Spencer.
Casket Bearers; Jesse Buren, Walt Buren, Beau Buren, Scott Buren, Shea Buren, Scot Francis.
Jennie Buren the daughter of Hildabrand and Jantje Schram Hoogeterp was born August 19, 1919 in Newkirk. Her childhood years were spent in Newkirk where she received her early education and graduated.
Jennie married Herman J. Buren on March 23, 1938 in Newkirk. Following their marriage they farmed in the Everly and Royal areas. Jennie did volunteer work for the Clay County Fair.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Royal and a Mitten Club member.
Mrs. Buren was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman on August 7, 2001; and half sister, Rev. Hattie Goldie Duncan.
Jennie is survived by four sons and their wives; Clifford and Pam Buren of Richland, Nebraska, Daniel and Patty Buren of Applegate, Oregon, Micheal and Cindy Buren of Royal and Robert Buren and Colleen Grier of Garden City, Kansas; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one sister, Wilma Weaver of Lake Park; half brother Theo Hoogeterp of Sheldon; other relatives and friends.
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
