Services for Lester L. Bruns of Milford were held Saturday, April 19, 1980, at 11 a.m. at the Union Memorial Church in Milford with Rev. Marvin Nygaard officiating.

Pallbearers: Don Eckard, Irel Bruns, Richard Bruns, Larry Eckard, Jim Fliss, John Erdman.

Honorary Bearers: Don Hansen, Walter Hughes, Edwin Bates, Ernest Dannatt, Lloyd Range and Ebbo Meyer.

Lester L. Bruns was born to H.U. and Bessie Adkins Bruns at Milford on March 21, 1906. He attended school at Westport Rural Schools and Okoboji Township Consolidated School graduating in 1924.

On October 6, 1928, he was united in marriage to Iola Fliss at Spencer and to this union one child was born, Phyllis Bruns Koppert.

Mr. Bruns was a farmer for 25 years near Milford;was employed at Cook's Hatchery of Spirit Lake; Travis Theatres of Milford; Style Craft and Horseshoe Bend of Milford.

He was a member of the Union Memorial Church of Milford; a lifetime member of Farm Bureau and County Farm Bureau secretary.

On April 16, 1980, he passed away at the Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer.

Survivors include his wife, Iola and daughter Phyllis Koppert of Milford; granddaughter, Valerie K. Fuller; grandson Robert D. Koppert; great grandson Al C.L. Fuller; great granddaughter, Alice M. Fuller; son in law, Robert E. Koppert; two brothers, Joe of Spirit Lake and Delwin of DeWitt; three sisters, Doris Case of Indianola; Alice Pollock of Fairfax; Rowena Eckard of Milford; nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

Interment in North Lawn Cemetery in Spencer.

Leyson Funeral Home of Milford in charge of arrangements.
