Iola M. Bruns, 86, Milford, died Wednesday, June 26, 1996 at Spencer Municipal Hospital

Funeral services will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Union Memorial Church in Milford with the Rev. John Roszendaal officiating

Casket Bearers: Rob Koppert, Jim Fliss, Jason Snyder, Al Welle, Don Welle, Will Wine Gar

Burial will be at North Lawn Cemetery, Spencer

Iola Marguerite Bruns was born March 31, 1910 to George and Mabel Coleman Fliss at Spencer. She graduated from Okoboji Consolidated High School and later attended Iowa Lakes Community College

On October 6, 1928, she married Lester L. Bruns at Spencer. They farmed near Milford for 25 years. She was co owner of the Milford Bowling Alley and worked for many years as a cook in the school hot lunch program at Milford and at the Buy Rite Food Center

She was a member of Union Memorial Church, Union Memorial Guild, Church Circle, and Westport Women's Club. She served as a 4-H Leader for the Westport Township Girls

Mrs. Bruns was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter , one sister and four brothers

She is survived by two grandchildren, Robe Kippert and Valerie Koppert Welle both of Milford; one step grandchild, Deb Koppert Paxton of Milford; three great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and one sister, Irene Johnson of Reston, Virginia

Turner Funeral Home of Milford in charge of arrangements
