A memorial service of Russell H. Brugman, 93, of Lake City, formerly of Royal is scheduled for Saturday, January 19, 2002, 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Royal. The Rev. Theodore Letzring will lead the service.

Mr. Brugman died Monday, January 14, 2002 at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City.

Burial will be at North Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Spencer.

Russell Hugo Brugman, was born August 30, 1908 in Moneta, the son of Hugo and Emma Voss Brugman. He graduated from Moneta High School.

On June 6, 1933, he married Vivian Johnson. They lived in the Royal area before moving to Spencer in 1994.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Royal, where he served in several offices. He was also a past member of the Iowa Trucker's Association and assisted with communities and many volunteer projects in the Royal community.

He owned Brugman Trucking, hauling livestock for area farmers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and a sister.

Mr. Brugman is survived by three daughters; Sharon (Mrs. John) Boehringer of Eugene, Oregon, Linda (Mrs. James) Hindt of Rockwell City and Lois (Mrs. Scott) Mace of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; six grandsons; three step grandchildren; a brother, Donald Brugman of Tracy, California; a sister, Dorothy O'Neal of Spencer; other relatives and friends.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
