December 2, 1954Louise Brugman, nee Petersen, was born March 24, 1873 at Davenport, Iowa. There she went to school and there she was married on October 17, 1906 to Rudolph F. Brugman. After their marriage the couple came to Clay County and farmed southwest of Everly.
Two daughters were born to this home, Bertha and Marie. In 1923 the family moved to Spencer on a small farm where they have lived ever since. Her husband passed away in 1949 and Mrs. Brugman has lived with her daughter Bertha since that time, who has tenderly cared for her especially since she became helpless.
Mrs. Brugman passed away on December 2, 1954. She leaves to mourn her passing, her two daughters, Bertha Brugman of Spencer and Mrs. John Nielsen and son in law John of Moneta, Iowa. She leaves one grandson, Donald Nielsen and two granddaughters, Mrs. Donald Cummings of Hartley, Iowa and Shirley Nielsen of Moneta and one great granddaughter, Rebecca Cummings.
She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Kuno Wilckens of Coggon, Iowa and three brothers, George, William and Charles Petersen all of Davenport, Iowa, besides other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brugman were held Saturday, December 4, 1954 at 3:00 p.m. from the Cobb Warner Chapel with Rev. John Jensen officiated.
Burial was in North Lawn Cemetery.
