Emma Voss Brugman

December 15, 1960Emma Voss Brugman, daughter of John and Dorothea Overdick Voss was born in Muscatine County, Iowa on April 20, 1878 and passed away at the Spencer Hospital on December 15, 1960 at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 25 days. She had been in failing health for the last year.
She was united in marriage to Hugo B. Brugman on December 2, 1902 near Hartley. The couple spent their early married life in Lamberton, Minnesota. He husband preceded her in death May 15, 1942.
To this union six children were born; Karl, deceased; Russell of Royal; Dorothy, Mrs. H.W. O'Neal of Spencer; Donald of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming; Ada, Mrs. Dorell Jones of Spencer and Emil (Bud) of Hartley.
In addition to her children she is survived by 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She had lived in Spencer for 22 years and had been Clay County resident for over 50 years.
Until she was disabled in later life she had been a member of the Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge.
Her greatest interest in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held December 19 at the Warner Funeral Home Chapel in Spencer with Rev. C.E. Page officiating
Interment was in North Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers; Don Brugman, Jr., Glen Brugman, Darrell Brugman, Keith Brugman, Karl Brugman and Robert Olhausen.
