Weldon Blass, Terril, 82, died Tuesday, October 19, 1999 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 22 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Terril, with Rev. Glenn Bohmer officiating.

Casket Bearers will be all of Mr. Blass grandchildren.

Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer.

Weldon (Bob) Julius Blass, the son of Fredrick and Freida Caulsen Blass was born November 2, 1916 near Odebolt. He was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Odebolt. He received his early education near Odebolt and later graduated from Cornell High School.

On April 18, 1941, Mr. Blass married Gladys Roskens in Spencer.

Following their marriage, they farmed near Cornell and in 1951, they moved to Terril. While living in Terril, he was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and various church boards; a board member of St. Luke Lutheran Home for many years; a corn dealer for ASCS of Dickinson County; a member of the Terril Elevator Board, as well as other activities in the community.

Mr. Blass was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and an infant sister.

He is survived by his wife of Wahpeton; his children; Judith Ann Burke of Denver, Colorado; Mary Jane Peterson and her husband Dean of Hartley, Sally Jean Iverson of Cape Coral, Florida; James Weldon Blass and his wife, Lynne of Woodbury, Minnesota; Nancy Joan Carlson and her husband, Brent of Franktwon, Colorado; 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Norman of Estherville; three sisters; Carol Wegehaupt of Mitchell, South Dakota; Vivian Mulder of Lincoln, Nebraska and Lois Simmons.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
