July 15, 2000Funeral services for Wilbert (Willie) Bjerke, 85, of Spencer, will be held Thursday, July 20, 2000 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer. The Rev. Dale Hodges will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service
Mr. Bjerke died Saturday, July 15, 2000 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer
Burial will be at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer
Military services provided by Glen Pedersen Post #1 of Spencer

Wilbert (Willie) Bjerke, the son of Albert and Bergth Paulson Bjerke, was born July 10, 1915 in Finley, North Dakota and it was in the country schools of North Dakota that he received his education
He entered the military in 1936 and served until the time of his honorably discharge in 1939. Following his discharge, he came back to Spencer where he worked on a dairy farm for 35 years
On February 15, 1958, he married Thressa Brackey in Jackson, Minnesota.
Following their marriage they continued to live in the Spencer area where he farmed and worked for Spencer Lumber. He retired in 1980
Mr. Bjerke was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thressa; one sister Selma and five brothers; John, Ernest, Danzel, Arthur and Gustav
He is survived by two brothers; Jeroy of Encino, California and Herbert of Garden City, South Carolina; other relatives and friends
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements
