1989Lawrence Bohr, 68, Royal, died Sunday at Marian Health Center in Sioux City.
Funeral services for Mr. Bohr will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal, with the Rev Engene Schumacker officiating.
Casket Bearers: Ivan Pedersen, Richard Bailey, Dick Schott, Darrell Frerichs, Harold Phelps and Roland Assmus.
Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery in Spencer.
The son of Mathias and Rosa (Kaus) Bohr, he was born June 1, 1921, in Stickney, South Dakota. It was there that he received his early education.
He married Helen Schoenfelder on November 17, 1943 in Plankinton, South Dakota. Following their marriage they lived in the Stickney area until moving to Royal, he ran a welding and repair shop.
He was a member of St Louis Catholic Church.
Music played an important part in Mr. Bohr's life and he had been active in several area bands. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Bohr was preceded in death by his parents; and infant son, William; two sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include his wife; three sons and their wives; Gerald and Marilyn of Westfield; Kenneth and Pat of Royal and Allen and Barbara of Dallas, Texas; four daughters; Linda and her husband, Stephen Sherbo of Des Moines; Elaine and her husband, John Stiras and Nancy Bohr, all of Minneapolis; Diane and her husband, John Walter of Spokane, Washington; 16 grandchildren; three brothers, Frank of Mitchell, South Dakota; John of Galt, California and Walter of Neligh, Nebraska; three sisters, Bertha Babcock of San Leandro, California; Ann Wuertzer of Parkston, South Dakota and Marceline Bullis of Waterloo.
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
