Funeral services for Bernard Byron Blanchfield, 78, will be Saturday, February 26, at 11 a.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church. The Rev. Manzel Berlin will officiate.

Burial will be in the North Lawn Cemetery.

Casket Bearers; L.H. Dotson, Charles Juza, Kenneth Kaus, Leland Chamberlain, Earl Taylor and Ralph Taylor.

Mr. Blanchfield died Wednesday, February 23 at the Longhouse Residence.

The son of John and Flossie (Sifford) Blanchfield, he was born July 26, 1904 in Lake City. He received his education in Lake City.

On January 21, 1934 in Spencer he married Audrey Freeman.

They farmed for a number of years in the Gillett Grove area and moved to the Langdon area in 1941. He farmed there until his retirement in 1978.

A member of the Langdon United Methodist Church. Also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and was active in church and township committees.

Survivors include one brother, Russell Blanchfield; three grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Blanchfield, Rockwell City and Phineus Blanchfield, Lake City; one sister, Delight Schuneman, Mankato, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1978; his parents; four brothers, Marion, Virgil, Dacey and Hugh Blancdield; and one sister, Amber Sullivan.

Warner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
