July 28, 1986Funeral services for Gladys Behrens,73, of Spencer, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. The Rev. George Jacobson will officiate

Mrs. Behrens died Monday, July 28, at the St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer
The daughter of Olaf and Gunhilda (Sorenson) Olson. Mrs. Behrens was born December 6, 1912 on a farm southwest of Spencer. She attended schools in Greenville and Rossie and graduated from Rossie High School. She the attended Grand Island Business College, Grand Island, Nebraska and worked as a bookkeeper in Spencer
She married Peter John Behrens on June 4, 1956 in Spencer. They farmed in the Greenville area until 1964, when they retired. They moved into Spencer in 1976.
Mrs. Behrens was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Churh, where she had served on the church board. She also served as a 4-H leader, and was currently a member of of the Greenville Home Circle and a supporter of the Senior Center
She was preceded in death by her husband on November 30, 1983 and her parents
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Taylor of Spencer; and two grandchildren
Warner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
