Services for Peter Hansen Beck, 93, of Royal will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Warner Chapel. The Rev. Donald Wooge will officiate.

Interment will be at the North Lawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Jerry Beck, Jim Beck, Allan Beck, Robert Bowling, George Ashton, Jack Ashton, Mike Beck, Dan Beck and Warren Beck.

Beck, the son of John and Hanne (Westergaard) Beck, was born August 10, 1886 in Denmark. The family moved to America when he was two, settling in Burlington. He moved to Clay County as a young man, where he worked on a farm. He later began farming on his own in the Royal area.

Beck married Emma Johnson on October 9, 1914. They made Royal their home throughout their marriage.

Beck was an active member of the Methodist Church, serving on the board of directors and as superintendent of the Sunday School. He was a 4-H leader, a member of the board of directors of the Home State Bank in Royal and a member of the Odd Fellows.

Following the death of his wife, Emma. He married Elizabeth Cundiff in Royal in September, 1971. They continued to make their home in Royal.

He died Sunday at the Spencer Municipal Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Emma; his wife, Elizabeth; three brothers; and three sisters.

He is survived by three sons, Howard of Bloomington, Minnesota, Orval of Sibley and Homer of Tampa, Florida; two daughters, Mary Ashton of Tucson, Arizona and Mrs. Doris Hausmann of Royal; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
