Services for Nels Peter (Pete) Anderson, 69, of Colorado Springs, Colorado and formerly of Spencer, will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Warner Chapel. Pastor Craig Ause will officiate

Nels Pete Anderson, the son of Chris and Christina (Larsen) Anderson, was born May 11, 1912 in Spencer. He spent his childhood in the Royal area, where he also received his early education

He married Esther M. Kunzmann on August 16, 1937 in Spencer, where he worked for Spencer Food for a number of years. Anderson also operated a bar in Milford before moving to Colorado Springs in 1971

He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in that community

Anderson died Thursday in Colorado Springs.

Survivors include his wife, Esther of Colorado Springs; one son, Chris A. Anderson of Spencer; one daughter, Mrs. Janet Steffen of Colorado Springs; five grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Walton Walton of Spencer

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements
