Funeral Services Thursday for Mrs. Gertrude Everett

Mrs. Gertrude Everett, 52, succumbed to an illness of the past four years Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at her home in the Mrs. Mary Wyatt residence, 203 West Third street. She had been ill with high blood pressure, and suffered a stroke Monday afternoon which caused her death.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the Cobb funeral home with Rev. O.C. Geisler, pastor of the English Lutheran church which she had attended for the past year, officiating.

Interment was in Riverside cemetery.

Mrs. Everett was born in Marshall county, Ia., August 22, 1881, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.M. Rogers, who now reside at Waterloo. She came with her parents to Clay county in the spring of 1892 where she has since lived with the exception of two years spent in North Dakota.

On February 4, 1904, she was united in marriage at Spencer to William Everett of this county. Four children were born to them Harold, who died in infancy, Lyla, now Mrs. Perry Campbell, West Fourth street, Arlo Everett of Waterloo and Ivan Everett of Spencer.

Other relatives surviving are her parents; a brother, A.R. Rogers of Waterloo; two sisters, Mrs. F.G. Klein of Webb and Mrs. G.G. Young of St. Louis, Mo.

Her mother and brother arrived Wednesday, Mr. Rogers being unable to accompany them because of ill health.
