Ludwig Alfred Barglof
November 13, 1889
February 17, 1958

Ludwig Alfred Barglof, the son of Anton Ludwig and Christina (Swanson) Barglof, was born November 13, 1889, in Clay County near Greenville and died unexpectedly February 17 at the at the age of 68 years, three months and four days.

He married Lillian Parker in the bride's home near Webb on December 27, 1916. Three children were born to this union, Frances at home, Dorothy of Omaha, Nebraska and Mrs. C.O. (Gladys) Green of Kansas City, Missouri.

Mr. Barglof spent his entire life in Clay County and the greater part of the time on the same farm where he was born. Upon retiring he built a new home in south Spencer where the family has been living since that time.

He attended the Friends Church in Greenville although he had been baptized in the Swedish Lutheran Church when a child. Since moving to Spencer the family has been attending the Grace United Methodist Church. He gave several years of service of service on the Greenville School Board and was active in the Farm Bureau in Clay County.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters; two grandchildren, Stephen and Susan Green. Surviving brothers and sisters include; Blanche (Mrs. J.T. Reeves), Wenatchee, Washington; Anna (Mrs. George Middagh), Storm Lake; Fred of Greenville, Arthur of Tracy, Minnesota; Ida (Mrs. Warren Misner) of Afton, Wisconsin; Mabel, (Mrs. Clell Seaman) if Tujunga, California; Pearl (Mrs. Ross Mills) of Greenville.

Half brother, Erwin Barglof, Linn Grove, a step mother, Mrs. Mabel Barglof of Greenville, survives as do step brother, Herbert Arms, Milford and step sister, Pearl (Mrs. Lester Welle), Milford; Beatrice, (Mrs. Adrian Coover) Spencer. and Florence (Mrs. Morrell Coover of Greenville. There are bumerous other relatives and a host of friends who remain to cherish his memory.

Funeral services were held February 20 at 2 p.m. at the Warner Chapel, Spencer, with Rev. F.A. Smith officiating.

Pallbearers: A.A. Adams, Thoral All, Harold Fields, S.L. Greene, Rogers Mills and Weldon Pickering

The final resting place is North Lawn Cemetery, Spencer.
