William Prosper Barber

February 12, 1959William Prosper Barber was born April 16, 1856 to Mary Frankin and Rosthwell Barber at DeKalb, Illinois at his home February 12 after two week's illness
He was married to Mary Hawkins before 1890. To this union two children were born, Mary and Harold both deceased. Mrs. Barber died about 1894
On October 7, 1896, he married Selinah (Taylor) Chatfield in Kankakee, Illinios. They celebrated their golden wedding 1946. Mrs. Barber died December 29, 1952
Mr. Barber farmed in Illinois and in the Ruthven Community. Since retiring over 40 years ago they have lived in the same home at 322 West Second Street
He is survived by ten grandchildren, many great grand children, a step son, Nathan Chatfield and five step grand daughters.
Mrs. Harold Barber has cared for her father-in-law since her husband's passing
Funeral services were held Monday, February 16, at the Warner Chapel at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Floyd Hinshaw officiating
Pallbearers; Adrian Hughes, George Juza, Harold Casperson, Parker Barglof, Verlin Hively and Bayard Taylor.
