November 13, 2000A funeral service for Neil Arlen Ball, 61, of Storm Lake, formerly of Spencer, will be held today, November 16, 200, at the First Christian Church in Spencer. The Revs. Jim Blake and Charles W Schoeninger will officiate at the 11 a.m. service
Mr. Ball died at his home on November 13, 2000
Honorary Casket Bearers will be the Storm Lake Kiwanis Beavers
Interment will be at North Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Spencer
Neil Arlen Ball, the son of James K. and Marie (Beauvais) Ball, was born May 5, 1939 in Webb. His childhood years were spent in Webb where he received his education, graduating from Webb High School in 1957. Following high school, he attended Mankato Commercial College in Mankato, Minnesota
On August 20, 1961, he married JoAnn Freeburg in Spencer. Following their marriage the couple lived in Spencer, moving to Storm Lake in 1975.
Mr. Ball worked in the security department at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake until his retirement on April 1, 2000
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Spencer, past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Spencer and past President and Secretary of Storm Lake Kiwanis Beavers
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie; and his wife, JoAnn
Mr. Ball is survived by two daughters and their husbands; Melissa L Lynch and Dan of Waterloo and Heather L Ball and Stewart Pokorny of St. Paul, Minnesota; two grandchildren; his father, James K. Ball of Spencer; three brothers; LeRoy Ball and his wife, LaVon of Greeley, Colorado, James G. Ball and his wife, Linda of Tekamah, Nebraska and Steve Ball of Iowa Falls; other relatives and friends
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements
