March 28, 1999James Hoppe, 42, Spencer, died Sunday, March 28, 1999 at Spencer Municipal Hospital.
Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Spencer, with the Rev. Tom Dettmer officiating.
Honorary Casket Bearers: Gary Bechler, Matt Carstensen, Chuck Shanley, Darrell Hoffman, Bob Ove, Mike Larson Mark Viedenkamp and Steve Smith
Casket Bearers; Neal Drefke, Brad Meyer, Steve Nelson, Jeff Hatterman, Lloyd Senne, Paul VanEgdom and Pat Brown.
Burial will be held at the Riverside Cemetery.
James R Hoppe, the son of Raymond and Dorothy Schmidt Hoppe, was born March 28, 1958 in Primghar. He graduated from Paullina High School and following graduation he began to farm.
On October 22, 1982, Jim married Cindy Dammann in Spirit Lake. Following their marriage, Jim continued to farm in the Paullina area until 1984. He then went to work for WRD Pipeline, working Sioux Falls, South Dakota for one year.
While living in the Pauliina area he had been active with the Germantown Fire Department.
For the 13, years, Mr. Hoppe had worked for Mid-Continent Bottlers as a route driver and service technician. While living in Spencer, he was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Sharon Pahrmann
Mr Hoppe is survived by his wife, his mother Dorothy Schmith and her husband, Clarence of Paullina; three sisters Linda Nelson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Connie Neuroth and her husband, Tim of Webster City, Sandy Appeldorn and her husband, Dennis of Arnolds Park and and his three children, Chris Pauling of Iowa City, Iowa, Lyndsey Hoppe, and Beau Hoppe, both of Spencer. home.
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
