Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. today at the Warner Chapel, Spencer with the Rev. Kim Crummer offiiciating
Casket Bearers: George Muller, Max Koch, Mike Partick, Del Muckey, Loren Nelson and Glen Neve
Honorary Casket Bearers; Bill Lowe, Orville Stephas, Gaylord Vogt, Gene Bryson and Ike Hooven
Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Spencer
Harry Dale Huffman, the son of Harry Dale and Mabel E. (Andersen) Huffman was born on December 4, 1924 in Laurens. His childhood years were spent in Laurens, where he received his education, graduating from Laurens High School. He later attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake
Mr. Huffman then entered the military and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II
On March 2, 1952, he married Lorrie Eider in Jackson, Minnesota. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Spencer. He worked at Williams Publishing and the Spencer Daily Reporter for many years. He also worked at the Des Moines Register until his retirement in 1986 after 35 years in the newspaper business.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. He also enjoyed socializing, storytelling, playing cards, reading, music, fishing, hunting and watching movies
Mr. Huffman was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Pete Lausen, and one granddaugher
He is survived by his wife Lorrie of Spencer, two sons, H. Dale Huffman and his wife Doris of Omaha, Nebraska and Michael Huffman and his wife, Lynn of Spencer, one daughter, Barbara Teal and her husband, Scott of Manchaen, Texas, 10 grandchildren; one brother Billie Huffman and his wife Ise of Escondido, California, one nephew, Donald Huffman of Escondido, California and one sister-in-law, Ruth Siple of LeMars
The Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements
