March 14, 1999Philip G. Swanson, 49, Spencer, died Sunday, March 14, 1999 at Spencer Municipal Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Warner Chapel, Spencer with Brad Wallace officiating
Casket Bearers: Wesley Swanson, Robert C. Swanson, Bob Theesfeld, Joel Swanson, David Hlatky and Jeff Mugge
Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Spencer.
Philip Gale Swanson, the son of Robert and Margaret (Hensley) Swanson was born September 23, 1949 at Spencer. It was there he received his early education and graduated from Spencer High School in 1967. He then attended Mankato State College in Mankato, Minnesota.
Philip worker for United Parcel Service in Spencer for over 28 years. He was an avid car enthusiast and a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Spencer.
Philip was preceded in death by a brother, Brent T. Swanson in 1985.
He is survived by his daughter Dawn Hlatky and her husband, Capt David Hlatky of Sumter, South Carolina, a son, Wesley Swanson of Lincoln, Nebraska, his parents, two brothers, Joel M. Swanson of Spencer and Robert A. Swanson Jr. and his wife Sandy of Tempe, Arizona and a sister Barbara Ann DeRosa and her husband, Dr. Arthur DeRosa of Phoeniz, Arizona.
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
