March 3, 1999Marshall Siple, 87, LeMars, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999 at the Veterans Medical Ceneter in Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 8, at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars with the Rev. Lynn Potter officiating
Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Spencer, with military honors provided by Glen Pedersen American Legion Post #1 of Spencer
Marshall Jones Siple was born June 30, 1911 in Stanton, Virginia to John P and Carrie Hammer. Marshall came to the LeMars area in the early 1930's. He moved to Spencer and worked for Jay Hammer in a restaurant and did carpenter work for several years. In 1955 Marshall moved to LeMars and went to work for Glen Siple at the Pantry Cafe. He returned in the mid 1980's.
Marshall married Ruth Elder on January 8, 1950.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He enjoyed cars, doing yard work, and gardening.
He was a Methodist and a member of the Washer American Legion Post in LeMars.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Glen Siple of LeMars.
Marshall is survived by his wife, a niece, Anna Lee Plendl and her husband, Bob of Kingsley, a nephew, James Sipl and his wife, Linda of LeMars and cousin Evelyn Miller of Church Hill, Virginia
