February 28, 1999Dagmer Marion Larsen, 99, Spencer, died Sunday, February 28, 1999 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church with the Rev. Tom Dettmer officiating
Casket Bearers: Mark Larsen, Tracey Larsen, Beau Larsen, David Larsen, Nicholas Larsen and Brian Steburg
Honorary Casket Bearers: Arlan Clausen, Marvin Rossiter, Jerry Clausen, Bill Madson and Gordon and Alta Bruns
Burial will be at North Lawn Memorial Park, Spencer
Dagmer Marion Larsen the daughter of Hans Christian and Sophia Andersen was born January 30, 1900 in Copenhagen, Denmark. she innigrared to the United States through Ellis Island in 1915 settling in Rolfe, before coming to Spencer to work for Dr. Green
On March 10, 1920, she married T.C. (Thorwald Christian) Larsen at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. Following their marriage they settled on the family home place east of town. In 1943, the family relocated to California, returning in 1945 to the farm they purchased south of Spencer. In 1980 they retired and moved into Spencer
Mrs. Larsen was always very active at Bethany Lutheran Church in BLCW and Church Circle. She also delivered Meals on Wheels in Spencer for many years and was well known for her prized whole wheat bread that took many blue ribbons at the Clay County Fair. For many years she enjoyed crocheting doilies and received several red and blue fair ribbons for them her last being in 1996
In 1994 after knee replacement surgery, she moved to St. Luke Lutheran Home, where she enjoyed crocheting, working puzzles and entertaining the nurses and aids with her jokes and quick wit
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thorvald, one daughter, Janet Kauffman, one grandson, Dale Fullford, one great-grandson Scott Francis Larsen, three brothers and three sister
She is survived by her two daughters, Lillian Fishburn at Spencer and Marylyn Henderson of Oceanside, California, two sons, Dale Larsen and his wife, Mary Lou of Spencer and Eldon Larsen and his wife, Pat of Spencer, 17 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren
The Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
