Final rites for Winslow S Grubb who died July 31 at Los Angeles, California were held August 6 at the Cobb-Warner Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. Rev. Kenneth Martin of the First Congregational Church officiating.

Interment was made in the Dickens Cemetery

Pallbearers; Leonard Beck, George Peters, Ben Wischmeyer, Bruce Crane, Eldon Jones, William Derry, Paul Van Norman and Ben Courdory

Winslow Stanley Grubb, son of John and Ida Grubb, was born in Dickens, August 14, 1898. At the time of his death he was 53 years, 11 months and 17 days of age.

He was graduated from high school in Dickens and Spencer, then continued his education at the State University of Iowa and Columbia University, New York City. From these institutions he received his B.A and M.A. degrees.

From childhood he was a member of the Methodist Church in Dickens. He was also a member of the Masonic order at Unionville, Iowa

During World War I he joined Company A of the students army training corps of Iowa City. During the second world war he was civilian and served with the army engineers at Ladd Airfield, Fairbanks, Alaska

His three sisters, Mrs. Ed Sutherland of Denver, Colorado, Mrs Chester Bridden and Gena Grubb of Dickens survive him. A brother Aubrey Grubb preceded him in death

Other survivors include a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Grubb of Urbana, Illinois and nieces and nephews, Maxine Grubb of Urbana, Betty Frobeck of Tuscon, Arizona, Duane Grubb of Boone and John Grubb of Chicago
