Lars Johnson, 72, a resident of this community for 40 years, passed away at the Sioux Rapids hospital on the morning of July 3, following a critical illness of three weeks. He had been in failing health for nearly two years.

Funeral services for Mr. Johnson were held at the Green Funeral Home at 1:30 Sunday afternoon. Rev. G.C. Knutson, Pastor of the First Lutheran officiated.

Burial was in Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly, Iowa

Pallbearers; Carl Johnson, Herb French, Art Peterson, Cecil Tobin, Harley Holmes and J.B. Lopour.

Lars Johnson the son of Ole and Gertrude Johnson was born in Sarstocke, Stavanger, Norway on January 1, 1880 and passed away July 3, 1952. At the time of his death he was 72 years, 6 months and 2 days of age.

His health failed about two years ago and he became seriously ill on June 12 and passed away July 3 at 4:00 a.m. at the Sioux Rapids hospital

Besides his children, he is survived by one grandson, Boyd Allen Bushey and a foster son, Donald Richardson; one sister, Mrs. Will Ashbough of Marathon; one brother Amanuel Johnson of Farsyth, Montana and a great number nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Relatives from a distance were Mrs. Bert Hiatt, Mrs. John Ross and Martin Mortenson and his daughter and children of Omaha, Nebraska, Mr and Mrs Irving Parkhurst of Soux City; Mrs Ole Johnson of Rochester, Minnesota and Donald Richardson of Camp Pickett, Virginia
