Byron Huffman passed away quietly in his sleep July 10, 1952 at his home in Langdon at the age of 78 years, two months and fourteen days.

He was born April 25, 1874, in Sangamon County, Illinois, near Buffalo Heart. He was the seventh of nine children of William and Melinda Huffman. He grew to manhood in that community and received his education there.

He was a member of the Church of God, but in later years attended the Methodist Church, where he was Superintendent of the Sunday School for several years.

TWO CHILDREN

On October 30, 1898,he was united in marriage to Nora Jane Coates of his home community. To this union two children were born, Mrs Luella Ginger of Langdon and Donald Huffman at home.

He farmed for years in Illinois, moving to Iowa in 1927 where he farmed for three years.

Four years ago he suffered a stroke at which time he was left a complete invalid.

Two years ago his wife preceded him in death.

He is survived by his two children; three grandchildren, Margaret, Lois and Richard Ginger; two brothers, J.W. Huffman of Midland City, Illinois and Newton Huffman of Sioux Rapids, Iowa and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 14 in the Methodist Church in Langdon. Rev Ralston was the officiating minister

Burial was made in North Lawn Cemetery

Pallbearers were nephews of Mr. Huffman; Enos, Frank, Leonard, Dave, Silas and Louis Huffman.
