Services for Loreta Utley, 84, of Spencer will be Friday, March 5, 1988 at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Spencer. The Rev. J. Landon Williams will officiate

Mrs. Utley died, Tuesday, March 2, 1988 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital

Burial will be at North Lawn Cemetery

Casket Bearers; Mike Utley, Jim Jones, Greg Jones, Steve Clayton, Gary Jones and Tom Belken

Mrs. Utley was born May 28, 1903 to John and Lillie (Woodard) Bennett in Rutledge, Missouri. Her childhood years were spent in the community. It was there that she received her early education.

She married Orville Utley in Clarence, Missouri on March 1, 1924.

They moved to Iowa shortly after their marriage and made their home in the Gillett Grove area. They later moved to Spencer where she has since made her home.

She was member of the First Christian Church and active in the circles, the VFW Auxiliary and has been very active in the Senior Citizens Center.

While in Gillett Grove, Mrs. Utley worked in the school hot lunch program and in Spencer she worked at the Tangney Hotel and the South T Motel.

Survivors include five sons, Kenneth of Rockford, Illinois, Donald of Lawson, Missouri, Orlie of Spencer, Robert of Winnebago, Illinois and Gale of Machesney Park, Illinois; seven daughters, Lillian Cunningham of Fort Dodge, Wanda Null of Winnebago, Illinois, Lucille Clayton, Marilyn Brustares and Caroline Jones all of Spencer, Ann Tiberend of Nashville, Illinois and Eula Belken of Ruthven; 39 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; one brother Clarence Bennett of Polo, Missouri and two sisters, Lola Keel of Kansas City, Missouri and Margie Barton of the Ozarks.

Mrs. Utley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, three grandchildren and two sisters
