Carolyn Jean (Carol)(Coover) Underwood, 63, Sapulpa, Oklahoma, formerly of Spencer, died Saturday, February 8, 1997 at Bartlett Memorial Medical Center in Sapulpa

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer with the Rev. Tonna Parsons officiating.

Burial will be at North Lawn Memorial Park, Spencer, IA

Carolyn Jean (Carol) (Coover) Underwood was born on January 25, 1934 near Greenville.

In 1935 she moved with her parents to what is now the Hannah Marie Inn, where she attended a rural school. In 1945 her parents moved to farm southeast of Spencer and she attended school in Gillett Grove where she graduated in 1951

On January 25, 1955 she married Bill Underwood in Jackson, Minnesota. Following their marriage, the couple lived in various places including, Spencer and Minnesota before moving to Sapulpa.

She is survived by her husband, her mother, Beatrice Coover; one brother, Keith Coover and his wife Shirley of Friendswood, Texas; two sisters, Debra Maage and her husband, Richard of Hardin, Montana and Cynthia Talbot of Livermore, California; one uncle, Erwin Barglof and his wife Marlyn of Linn Grove and one aunt, Pearl Welle
