Former Clay County Resident Died in Rochester June 7

N.J. Muller, familiarly known to his friends as "Nick," passed away Wednesday, June 7, at Rochester, Minn., where he had been since May 31 for medical attention. He was a patient at St. Mary's Hospital. Mr. Muller, who was 68 years of age, had been in rugged health until November, 1932, when he contracted a severe case of influenza.

Following funeral services held at the home of his son, Reuben, near Windom, at nine a.m., services were held at the Methodist church in Windom at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Caldwell in charge. The body was taken to Spencer by the Cobb ambulance and following brief rites at 2:30 at the Cobb funeral chapel, with Dr. H.E. Hutchinson, pastor of Grace M.E. church, officiating, the body was taken to Riverside cemetery for burial ceremonies conducted by the Masonic chapters at Spencer and Royal.

Mr. Muller was born in Hess, Germany, August 15, 1866. He came with with his parents to America in 1874 and they settled at Freeport, Ill. In 1882 the family moved to Ackley, Ia., where on February 26, 1889, Mr. Muller was married to Helene Kisslich. They moved to a farm in O'Brien county, near Peterson, where they lived until 1901. The family then moved to a farm one mile north of Royal and remained there until 1930 when they moved to the farm ten miles from Windom, which has since been the Muller home.

Mrs. Muller preceded him in death August 1, 1930.

The deceased man was confirmed as a Lutheran at the age of 13 and late affiliated with the Christian church. He was a member of Prudence lodge, No. 97, A.F. and A.M. Windom, Windom chapter No. 48, and Windom and Commandery No. 39.

Seven Children Survive

Children surviving are Mrs. Frazer Warren, Albany, Ore.; Mrs. Carl Erickson, Mrs. Laura Silliman, Reuben Muller, Dewey Muller, Ernest Muller, and Francis Muller, all of Windom. Other relatives are a grandchild, Luverne, who has been in the Muller home since infancy; a brother, Sebastian Muller, and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Henneberg; eight grandchildren and a host of friends.
