December 27, 1996Henry Chester Yeager, 73, Spencer, died Friday, December 27, 1996, at the Spencer Municipal Hospital.
Funeral services will be today, January 3, 1997 at 10:30 a.m., at the Warner Chapel, Spencer, with the Rev. Timothy Schott officiating.
Casket Bearers: Randy Killmer, Sam Noel, Don Richardson, Fran Stevenson, Darrell Marble and Joe Coleman
Burial will be at North Lawn Memorial Park, Spencer
Military services will be conducted by VFW, Clay County Post #3159
Henry Chester Yeager, the son of French and Rose (Baschke) Yeager, was born April 26, 1923 in Milford. His childhood years were spent in that community where he received his early education in the Catholic school.
His family moved to Spencer in 1936 and he continued his schooling at Spencer High School.
At the age of 17, he enlisted in the Navy where he served over five years during World War II. Following his discharge, he returned to Iowa.
He married Gladys Rose in Spencer and throughtout their marriage, they made their home in this community.
For several years he drove truck for Lakes Concrete, retiring at the age of 59 due to health.
Mr. Yeager was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Henry Chester Yeager of Royal, three grandchildren; tow great grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Schroeder and her husband, Charles of Milford.
Warner Funeral Home, Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
