WAS IN APPARENT GOOD HEALTH UNTIL STRICKEN BY APOPLEXY
Ernest Mier, a resident of Langdon for the past eight years and owner of a garage there, died very suddenly last Wednesday evening at about 10 o'clock in the town hall where he was watching a boxing match. His death was caused from apoplexy. He was 47 years old.
Mr. Mier's death was a shock to the people of that community as he had been at his garage all that day and was feeling fine.
He was born in Haverhill, Iowa, April 14, 1883, and made his home there until he was about 30 years old. He later moved to the state of Minnesota where he spent a few years. Eight years ago Mr. Mier moved to Langdon and had since made his home there.
Mr. Mier is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Charles Pothast, of Langdon, Mrs. August Otte and Mrs. Fred Meyer of Haverhill, Iowa; four brothers, Henry of Barnum, Iowa; Fred of Manson, Iowa; Charles of Haverhill and George of Sargeant, Minnesota, besides other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the chapel of the Cobb Funeral Home. Rev. O.C. Geisler had charge. The body was taken to Haverhill, Iowa, Saturday where funeral services were held Sunday. Burial was made in the cemetery at Haverhill.
