Frank Edleman, 66, of Gillett Grove, a resident of Clay county for the past 38 years, died at 3:30 Monday afternoon at the University hospital where he was taken four weeks ago.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the home west of Gillett Grove and at 2:00 o'clock from the Methodist church at Gillett Grove with Rev. S.I. Jacobson of Sioux Rapids and Rev. Hammer of Webb officiating.
Interment was made at Riverside cemetery in Spencer. Casket bearers were James Howard, Lew Mills, Bert Sanderson, Harley Hamrick, Eli Thompson and Ray Moore of Gillett Grove. Music will be furnished by a quartette consisting of Mrs. Chas. Barnard, Miss Lily Anderson, Walter Steward and Mr. Hargrave, all of that vicinity.
Frank Edleman, son of Mary Ann and George Edleman, was born June 21, 1869, in Spragueville, Jackson county, Iowa. He grew to young manhood in the same community. On January 21, 1897, he was united in marriage to Christine M. Ries of Clinton, Iowa. In February of the same year they moved to Clay county, arriving at Dickens, but settling near Gillet Grove.
Three sons were born to this union, Howard of Des Moines, Keith of Webb and Milton of Curlew. He leaves to mourn his loss besides his loved wife and sons, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Donovan of Salem, Wash., and Mrs. Emma Daudel of Kirksville, Mo.; also two brothers, James of Bryant, S.D., and William of Lyons, Ia., besides four grandchildren and a host of friends.
