Dale C. Brinkley, 73, Milford, died Sunday at Dickinson Memorial Hospital of a lingering illness.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Union Memorial Church in Milford. The Rev. Leonard Root will officiate

Casket Bearers; LeRoy Wintz, Keith Hemphill, Virgil Hoffman, Bruce Lu, Hubert Sternberg and Tim Hemphill.

Burial will be in the Dickens Cemetery.

The son of Ebb and Eva (Brown) Brinkley, he was born in Clay County on September 29, 1914.

He married Gladys Stuckey on August 22, 1936

They moved to Milford in 1937 and farmed in the area until in 1970. He then worked for Stylecraft for four years, retiring due to illness.

Mr. Brinkley enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George, Wes and Donald; and one grandson.

He is survived by a daughter, Carol Koep of Milford; three sons, Donald of Milford, Dwight of Lawrence, Kansas and David of Iowa Falls; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Vern of Spencer, Kenneth of Spencer and Roy of California; seven sisters, Lela Swanson, Loretta Iverson, Ruby Fitzloff and Margaret Johanson all of Spencer and Virginia Behrens, Helen Hoffman and Mary Schoning of Milford.
