July 3, 1991Lester C. Anderson, 81, of Spencer, died Wednesday, July 3 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital.
Services for Mr. Anderson will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, July 6, in the First Baptist Church of Webb.
The Revs. Nathaniel Perry and George Hope will officiate.
Casket Bearers: Dale Woodford, Darrell Reed, Brian Batschelet, LeWayne (Red) Baxter, Burrel Matthews and Richard Carlson
Burial will be in the Garfield Cemetery of Webb.
Mr. Anderson, son of Charles and Carrie (Coddington) Anderson, was born September 25, 1909, in Schaller.
He spent his childhood years in the Webb area, and it was in the Garfield School that he received his early education and graduated from high school.
Mr. Anderson married Verona Long and during their marriage they lived in the Webb area.
Following his wife's death, Mr. Anderson married Norma VanHooser on November 22, 1970, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They have since made their home in Spencer, where for many years Mr. Andderson served as treasurer of Clay County Mutual Insurance Co. He retired in 1984.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the First Baptist Church in Webb and was active in the First Baptist Church in Spencer.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; one son and his wife, Darwin and Ouida Anderson of Red Oak, Texas; one daughter and her husband, Carolyn and Richard Brown of Bakersfield, California; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Clarence of Webb and LaVonne Reed of Cherokee.
Arrangements are being made by the Warner Funeral Home of Spencer.
