Services for Hazel Lee Andersen, 63, Spirit Lake, were 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 1989, at the Grace Lutheran Church, Spirit Lake.

Rev. Fred J Peters officiated.

Pallbearers; Robert K. Barnard, Kent Grange, Henry Hanby, Chester McClintic, Jerry Moe and Reed L. Potter.

Mrs. Andersen died Thursday, July 27, at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital from cancer.

She was born November 22, 1925 in Walnut Creek, St. Charles County, Missouri, to Clyde and Myrl Edelen. She graduated in 1943 from St Charles High School and joined the war effort with her parents as a ship welder from Oregon Shipyards, a division of Kaiser Ship Building.

She married Ernest L. Andersen in Spencer, September 20, 1945. She was baptized in Laurens in 1950 and after moving to Spirit Lake in 1953 she and Mr. Andersen were confirmed into the Lutheran faith and joined Grace Lutheran Church, Spirit Lake. She was an active member of GLCW.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest, Spirit Lake; six children, Michael and Douglas, Scottsdale, Arizona, Marcia Sexton, Spirit Lake, Debra, Marin County, California, Lisa, Flagstaff, Arizona and Leslie, Buffalo, New York; four grandchildren, and a sister, Jean Finch, Lodi, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Burial was in the Garfield Cemetery, Webb.
