Peterson, IowaBonnie Bernice (Morris) Markley, the daughter of Charles and Susan (Walters) Morris was born on July 19, 1923 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was one of six children born to the family. She grew up and lived in Fremont, Nebraska where she lived and worked during the early years of her life.
She met and married Richard D. (Dick) Lindahl on August 2, 1947. After several years of marriage she and Richard divorced.
She met and married Graham (Rex) Markley, Jr. on November 3, 1956 in Fremont. Shortly, thereafter the Markley's moved to Alexandria, Virginia where they lived and worked for 38 years. The Markley's where proud owners of AMOCO and Exxon gas and auto service businesses for numerous years. On September 26, 1994,
Mr. Markley passed away unexpectedly. She then moved to the Columbus, Ohio area close to her son Michael and family where she lived for approximately 16 years.
In November 2011, she moved to Willoway Heights, Sutherland, Iowa to be close to her family.
She passed away unexpectedly at her home on June 19, 2013, one month before her 90th birthday, she was 89 years old.
Bonnie and her husband Rex enjoyed camping with their friends and spent several years camping in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. They enjoyed traveling and had opportunities to travel to various holiday locations for vacations and trips.
She enjoyed and received frequent visits from her children and grandchildren over the years. She cherished her family, her children and their spouses, and grandchildren. She enjoyed the personal friendships that she had with many people who enjoyed her kindness and sense of understanding. She dealt with life's losses, tragedies, disappointments, and sacrifices with a noble grace. She will be missed.
Left to cherish Bonnie's memory is her son Michael A. Lindahl and his wife, Cynthia R. (McDaniel) Lindahl of rural Peterson / Sutherland, Iowa; daughter Jini L. (Lindahl) Voss and her husband, Robert L. Voss of Spirit Lake, Iowa. Her grandchildren Jonathan Lindahl and his wife, Morgan of Delaware, Ohio; Tara Helm and her husband Steven of Phoenix, Arizona; Renae (Voss) Furl and her husband David of Omaha, Nebraska; Carmen (Voss) Jones and her husband Gordon of Omaha, Nebraska. Her great-grandchildren Parker and Payton Lindahl; Elsa, Emma and Kiara Furl; and Hannah Jones.
She was preceded in death by here father Charles T. Morris, her mother Susan (Walters) Morris, her sister Alice (Morris) Schofield and brothers Louis, Richard, James, and William Morris; and her husband for nearly 40 years Graham Markley, Jr.
