Services for Darrell Dean Alger, 50, of Tucson, Arizona and formerly of Dickens, will be at 1:30, Friday, August 23, 1990 in the Warner Chapel. The Rev. Clark Christian will officiate

Casket Bearers; Dale Stephas, Orville Stephas, John Heiman, Perry Leslie, Lyle Grover and Merle Grover

Military Services will be performed by American Legion Post No. 194 from Dickens.

Burial will be in Dickens Cemetery

Mr. Alger died Saturday, August 18, 1990 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson

He was born Spetember 6, 1939, in Dickens to Edward and Elva (Jones) Alger. His childhood years were spent in Ruthven and Dickens, where her received his early education, graduating from Gillett Grove High School in 1958

Following high school, Mr Alger worked for Mid States Builders before going into the military on September 15, 1960. Following his discharge, he went back to work for MIdStates before moving to Montgomery, where he worked for Farmers Elevator

On August 15, 1965, he married Pat Oliver in Montgomery. The couple later moved back to Dickens where Mr Alger owned and operated Alger Construction.

While living in Dickens, he was member of the United Methodist Church, a member of the city council for several years, a volunteer fireman and also worked at the Dickens Post Office as a mail carrier.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother.

Mr Alger is survived by his wife; two sons, Stacey, serving with the U.S.Air Force, stationed at McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, Washington and Jeff of Tucson; one daughter Gina Roach of Des Moines; three grandchildren; his father, Edward of Spencer; and two sisters, Darlene Logan of Spencer and Ruby Warren of Sequin, Texas
