Funeral services for Mrs. Elva Marie Alger, 54, of Dickens were conducted at 2 p.m., August 26, 1972 from the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
The Kenneth Bressler and The Rev Ivan Maxon officiated with burial in the Dickens Cemetery
Casket Bearers; L.A. White, Clayton Rusk, Leland Nelson, Joel Sorenson, Wendall Anderson and Roger Lathrop
Mrs. Alger died at her home, August 23, 1972 of an apparent heart attack
She was born January 1, 1918, in Clay County to Lawrence and Adah (Simington) Jones. She attended school at Lake Center.
On May 23, 1938 she was married to Ted Alger at Spencer. They made their home in Dickens except for a short time spent in the Ruthven Community
She was a member of the Dickens United Methodist Church, the Women's Society of Christian Service, the Birthday Club and the Cemetery Association.
A homemaker by occupation she is survived by her husband, Ted; a son, Darrell of Dickens; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Darlene) Logan of Windom, Minnesota, and Mrs Ruby Halbur of Newell and 13 grandchildren.
Other survivors include a brother, William Jones of Council Bluffs and four sisters, Mrs. Fred (Elsie) Flack, Dickens, Mrs Iva Hansen, Spencer, Mrs. Melvin (Almeda) Smith, Webb; and Mrs. William (Louise) Combs of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements
