Ruby Eaton, age 84, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa died Monday, February 13, 2006 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2005 at First United Church of Sioux Rapids with Reverend Phillip Lewison officiating.

Burial will be in Garfield Cemetery at Webb, Iowa.

The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.

Ruby was born February 28, 1921 in Nancy, Kentucky to Sam and Rilda (Dalton) Brock. She moved with her family to the Gillet Grove, Iowa area, where she grew up and received her education, graduating from Gillet Grove High School.

Ruby was united in marriage to Joseph Eaton. They were blessed with four sons and three daughters. Ruby was a homemaker who loved sewing and gardening. She had a reputation as quite a baker. Ruby liked to catch nightcrawlers and sell them as bait to area fishermen. She enjoyed watching television. Her favorite programs were “The Price is Right” and “Q.V.C.”

Ruby loved her family and treasured the time she could spend with them. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart.

Left to cherish Ruby’s memory are her sons: Donald and wife Julie, Billy and wife Linda, and Jody and wife Penelope; her daughters: Connie and husband Robert White and Sandy and husband Louis Mendez; brother Carter Brock; grandchildren: Mike, Chad and Christ Eaton; Chad, Christie, Jeff and Jackie Eaton; Angie Kennebeck and Lori Jessen; Billy, Bobby, Penny and Brad White; Roger, Dianna, Holly and Alisha Tripp; and Rebecca and Nickelle Mackey; many great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Preceding Ruby in death were her husband Joseph Eaton, daughter Debbie, son Larry, grandson Larry, five brothers and one sister.

Interment in Garfield Township cemetery
