Miss Verla Alma Heneman passed away in Spencer Tuesday morning, Feb. 7, at 1:30 in her apartment over Guss' restaurant. Miss Heneman had not been enjoying the best of health for the past tow weeks but thought she was not sick enough to call physician. She went to work at the Bob Wallace store Monday morning but was forced to leave her work and return to her rooms about 11 o'clock. She passed away of heart trouble Tuesday morning before any of her loved ones could reach her bed side. At the time of her death, Miss Verla was 21 years, 3 months and 2 days old.

Miss Verla Alma Heneman, the daughter of Mrs. Phoebe Heneman was born near Fostoria, November 5, 1906. In youth she attened school at Fostoria finishing the grades and then attended the Spencer high school completing her high school course with the class of 1925. After her graduation, Miss Heneman went to Armstrong, Iowa, where she was bookkeeper for her brothers, Elmer and Curtis who were then engaged in the garage and auto sales business. A year ago December 1, Miss Heneman began her duties as cashier for Bob Wallace Mercantile company in Spencer and was engaged there at the time of her death.

Miss Verla united with the Methodist church of Fostoria early in the year 1921 and still held her membership to this church. When possible to attend services there she assisted in the choir as first soprano as she was talented and possessed a sweet voice. Miss Heneman was an attractive young lady with a pleasing personality and was loved by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She possessed a sweet lovable personality and was devoted to all her loved ones and will be sadly missed by numberless friends and relatives. She was such a comfort and companion to her widowed mother. Her father preceded her in death February 14, 1920.

Miss Heneman leaves to mourn her early departure her mother, Mrs. Phoebe Heneman of Fostoria, nine brothers, Charles, Foster, Arthur, Dan and Leonard all living near Fostoria, Elmer, Curtis and George of Armstrong, Cyrus of Estherville and her only sister, Mrs. J.E. Mitts of Lake Center and numerous other friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church of Fostoria, Rev. E. Hammerle, pastor of the church officiating. Prior to the church services a short prayer will be held at 1:30 at the Heneman home. Burial will be made in Riverside cemetery at Spencer.
