Mrs. William J. Flint, resident of Spencer for the past six years, passed away at her home, 658 Grove street, Sunday morning, December 25, 1927, at the age of 58 years, 9 months and 2 days. She had not been well for the past year having undergone a serious operation over a year ago, and for the past three months she had been confined to her bed during which time she was always a patient sufferer.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Flint home with the Dr. Herbert Clegg, pastor of the Grace Methodist Episcopal church of Spencer, officiating. Mr. and Mrs. J. Elliet Gould sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," "Abide With Me," and "Asleep in Jesus." Burial was made in Riverside cemetery.

Mary Louisa Hoskins was born in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, on March 23, 1869, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John K. Hoskins. Her father and a brother have preceded her in death.

She was united in marriage to William J. Flint, also of Dodgeville, on November 21, 1888. They lived there until March, 1895, when they moved to their farm north of Everly, residing there until in the spring of 1921, when they moved to their present home in Spencer.

Mrs. Flint leaves to mourn their loss her husband and four children: Mrs. Frank Adams and Mrs. Harley Cranston, both of Everly, Iowa; Leroy Flint of Gillett Grove and Lula at home; besides her mother, 84 years of age, and three sisters, Margaret LaBounty and Mrs. W.A. Johns, all of Dodgeville, and Mrs. William Curnow of Chicago, also two grandchildren.

Mrs. Flint was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, and her greatest pleasure was when performing home and family duties, and her loss in the home will always leave a vacant place. She was held in high esteem by all who knew her and was always ready to assist in any home where sickness and sorrow came. She will be greatly missed by her many friends.
