Mrs. George Ross died on Sunday, March 25, 1923, at the home of her niece, Mrs. Lewis Wesche near Webb, after a lingering illness. Her home was in Sioux Rapids, but she had lived with her niece for some time.

Mr. and Mrs. Ross came to Clay county in 1880 and made their home on a farm for a number of years. In 1908 they decided to retire from active farm life and chose Sioux Rapids as their future home.

Mrs. Ross united with the Baptist church in 1865 and in 1884 she and her husband joined the Welsh Pioneer Baptist church. When they moved to Sioux Rapids they transferred their membership to the church there and were faithful workers in its affairs. One son, the Rev. Luther Ross, is pastor of a church at Corning.

The funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon in her home in Sioux Rapids and interment was made in Fanny Fern cemetery, three miles north of Sioux Rapids.
