Mrs. S.S. Biksen, of Summit township, passed away Monday morning, the cause of her death being dropsy. Funeral services will be held this Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock at the Christian church. Interment will be in Riverside cemetery. We hope to have a more extended notice in our next issue.

Old Settler Passes AwayMonday morning at her home northwest of Spencer Mrs. S.S. Biksen died after an illness of over a year from heart trouble.
Bertha Marie Peterson was born in Christiana, Norway, March 15, 1848. In 1870 in Norway she was married to S.S. Biksen. Soon after this Mr. Biksen came to America and settled in this vicinity and in 1872 Mrs. Biksen came to America and has ever since resided at Spencer. Ten children were born to them, six of whom are living. Mrs. Biksen was a splendid woman, a good mother and wife, and a kind neighbor, universally loved by those who knew her. She was a member of the Lutheran church and was a devoted Christian lady.
The funeral was held from the Christian church in Spencer Tuesday afternoon the services being conducted by Rev. Spafford and interment was in Riverside cemetery.
