Jacob Raffensparger Dead

The people of the city and community were greviously shocked Saturday when it became known that Jacob Raffensparger had passed away. But few knew of the serious illness which caused his death. For many years he was a familiar figure on the streets and few men were better liked or more highly respected. Although of a retiring nature, he made many warm friends to whom his death will come as a personal loss. Always faithful in the performance of his duties his business career is unblemished by unworthy acts or deeds.

Jacob Raffensparger was born near York Pennsylvania, September 17, 1835. He lived in the vicinity of York for many years engaging early in life in the dry goods business. He was married July 7, 1858 to Sarah J. Bender, to this union were born six children, four of whom are living.

For several years he had contended with an affliction which gradually increased until after a few days only of serious illness he died on the 6th day of February, 1909. Deceased is survived by his wife, two brothers and three sisters. His surviving children are as follows: Mrs. C.S. Corl, of Minneapolis, Charles, living in the vicinity of Rapid City, South Dakota, Jacob of Minneapolis and William, of Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Funeral services are to be held at the home on East Third street this (Wednesday) afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. E.E. Day. Interment in Riverside cemetery.
