A Good Mother Called

The sad words, which come but once into a life, came to the Andrew Pedersen home last Friday morning July 7. Mother is gone. After a lingering sickness she finished the weary journey and now rests in the Great beyond. This was the loss of an unselfish mother and devoted companion, the saddest, of all losses in the home. They who suffer such a loss are among the most bereaved.

Mrs. Hilda Johnson Pedersen was born in Sweden August 18, 1864. She moved to Norway some time in 1875 where she lived until coming to America in August of 1880. On November 25, 1884 she married Andrew Pedersen. To this union nine children were born, two girls and seven boys. One died in infancy.

Mrs. Pedersen was converted early in life and lived a quiet victorious life until the time of her death which occurred on the morning of July 7, 1911. In January of 1901 she united with the Baptist Church of this city. Our sister leaves a husband eight children, three sisters, Mrs. Amelia Larson of Texas, Mrs. Johnson of Des Moines, Mrs. Anderson of Spencer and one brother Mr. Moody Johnson also of Spencer.

Mrs. Pedersen was a quiet woman living in her home and in her church. And in her own quiet way making herself felt everywhere. She will be greatly missed in the home and also in the community.

Her life will remain a sweet memory in the hearts of her husband and children.

The funeral services were held from the home Sunday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Collins. Burial occurred at Riverside cemetery.

The children from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nelson, of Irene, S.D., Peter Pedersen, of Farmington, Minn., Mrs. John Johnson, of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Trump of Des Moines.

The News would fain speak one word of comfort, but the real comforter is nearer than a human friend..."Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal."
