Lora Ann Krogman, the daughter of Jarold and Donna (Groen) Krogman, was born on August 23, 1976 in Spencer, Iowa. She was raised in Spencer where she attended school and graduated from Spencer High School in 1995. After graduation she attended Loras College in Dubuque majoring in English. Following graduation, she managed a Bed and Breakfast called the Red Roof Inn and then later she was the assistant manager at a restaurant called Fried Green Tomatoes in Galena, IL.

Lora met Bob Bower in Dubuque and they moved to Caledonia, Il, where they worked together at an organic farm for about the last 5 years. Lora was involved in the daily operation of the farm, but mostly was involved in the human resources department. Lora was very involved in the making of a movie about the farm called The Dirt On Farmer John and also putting together a cookbook of organic recipes. Lora liked to cook and write poetry and she even had some poems published. She also just started the hobby of beekeeping.

Lora passed away on Friday September 14, 2007, east of Rockford IL, near her home, due to an automobile accident , she was 31. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Arlyce Groen.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents: Jarold and Donna Krogman of Spencer, IA; two brothers: Brian Krogman and his wife, Julie and their children, Kiersten and Carson, and Michael Krogman of Evansdale, IA; her maternal grandfather, Robert Groen of Sibley, IA; paternal grandparents: Dale and Mary Jean Krogman of Sibley, IA; her companion, Bob Bower and his three children: Eddie, Jack and Austin of Caledonia, IL; many aunts and uncles; other relatives and many friends.
