Spencer, IowaRodney John Haburn, the son of Mervin (John) and Betty Ann (Hanson) Haburn, was born August 6, 1952, in Cherokee, Iowa. He received his early education in Washta schools. His family moved to Spencer, Iowa, in 1961, where he continued his education, graduating from Spencer High School.
Rodney entered the military in 1970 and served his country with the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge in 1978. After his military service, he returned to Spencer where he attended Technical School in Sheldon, Iowa.
Rodney married Dianna Howard on June 30, 1984, in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they continued to live in Spencer where he worked for SnapOn Tools in Algona in Electronic Maintenance for the past 20 years.
He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and his nieces and nephews were of special importance to him.
Rod passed away at his home in Spencer on Monday, March 26, 2007, at the age of 54. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Randal.
He is survived by his wife, Dianna of Spencer, IA; a daughter from a previous marriage, Jill Michelle Dean; three grandchildren; two brothers: Bradley and Bryan and his wife, Lori Haburn all of Spencer, IA; one sister, Pam Haburn of Smithland, IA; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
