Peter Nielsen, well known resident of Spencer, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Quist, January 14, 1930. His death was due to hardening of the arteries and at the time of his death, Mr. Nielsen was 78 years of age.

Peter Nielsen was born In Flintige Lolland, Denmark. December 23, 1851. He came to America in the year 1909, to Dakota City, Nebraska where he remained for about one year. Mr. Nielsen then moved to Spencer, where he made his home with his daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Quist with whom he lived until death called him on Tuesday, January 14, 1930. He leaves to mourn his departure seven daughters, and one son, Mrs. Charlie Quist of Spencer, Mrs. C. R. Lund of Sioux City and five other daughters and one son who lives in Denmark; also he leaves twenty-four grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was married to Anne Luse Larsen, who preceded him in death, having passed away, December 24, 1909.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon, January 16, at 1:30 at the Cobb Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Nyegaard in charge. Interment will be made in Riverside cemetery. Pall bearers are Sam Wilson, Chris Nelson, Lewis Wilson, A. P. Nelson, John Erbs and Miller Ivesgaard.
