Mrs. Bertha Peterson, wife of P. M. Peterson of East Fifth street, died on Monday at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines, following an operation. Mrs. Peterson had been in the hospital for the past few weeks and her condition was considered serious from the first.
Mrs. Peterson was flfty years of age. She was born In Romstalen, Norway, May 4, 1872, and came to this country in 1902 and was married to Mr. Peterson in 1903. Then they lived for many years in Meadow township and came to Spencer about five years ago, living for a time in a home on East Ninth street and later in the home on East Fifth street.
No children have been born to Mr. and Mrs. Peterson and the only relatives except her husband who survives her is a brother-in-law living in South Dakota.
The body was taken from Des Moines hospital to the Caldwell Undertaking chapel in that city and later sent to Spencer, arriving here Tuesday afternoon.
The time for the funeral services has not as yet been decided upon but will be hled at the Danish Lutheran church in charge of the Rev. I. Gertsen, pastor of the church. Interment will be made at Riverside.
